David E. Fahrney Undergraduate Scholarship in Biochemistry
The David E. Fahrney Undergraduate Scholarship was created through the generosity of Professor Emeritus David Fahrney. Dr. Fahrney created the first departmental undergraduate scholarship specifically for outstanding biochemistry majors and, thus, ensured that his many contributions to CSU and the department of biochemistry and Molecular Biology will be remembered for years to come.
1) Enrolled full-time in the College of Natural Sciences 2) Majoring in Biochemistry 3) Have junior, senior or graduate class level status with outstanding academic record in upper division courses in biochemistry/molecular biology 4) Maintain an overall GPA of 3.5 as undergraduate student or GPA of 3.25 as a graduate student 5) Citizen or permanent resident of the United States 6) Have successfully completed Comprehensive Biochemistry I (BC 401) or its current equivalent with a grade of A 7) Students shall write a one-page essay on the importance of biochemistry to themselves and society
